Happy Valentines Day!

We made Red Velvet Cake Pops, delicious!  This is my second time making them, the first time they set up better, but they are so good, perfect size, and fun to make and give out.  (If you don’t want to take the time to make the cake and form into balls [time consuming], doughnut wholes work as well, they’re just not as tasty)

Valentine parties…  I have more pics of Sage’s class this time as I try to switch off at the parties.  BTW, they enjoy being in separate classes, being their own person, and being together at recess and lunch with the same group of friends.

Activity Days

DSC_2777

So excited about my new calling as Activity Days leader.  With a fun partner and a great group of girls (ages 8 & 9), we meet twice a month to help the girls bond, pass things off, have fun, and teach the girls new skills.  It’s a perfect calling for me with my crazy schedule, and I love working with the girls.  Sophie and Sage lit up and were thrilled when they found out I was one of their Activity Day leaders :)

Then noodles with chopsticks (love how my girls eat with chop sticks, hee, he, I guess we should practice that), moon cake & our favorite white rabbit candies.  They left with red envelopes after discussing the meaning behind it all.  A big hit with the girls!

This week (below), we celebrated Valentines…

DSC_2879Started with a scripture chase on Love, they won heart bracelets when they found the right verse, they hustled!

They were able to make another one- their choice.  Sophie and Sage instantly chose Sara & Kennedy, their BFF’s from our old neighborhood.  Missing their old friends, but making new ones fast!

Fun times at Activity Days!

Josh ready for his Jr. High dance

A sneaky secret admirer gave our front porch a “heart attack”. Filled with paper hearts and a box of 7 yummy frosted cookies, so sweet! I must have teenage boys in the house. The give away was the heart taped on the cookies that said- “text me”. Had to be Morgan... Thanks cutie, Josh loved it and we all enjoyed the cookies.

Nick and Alexis, ready for Sweethearts Ball. Aren't they cute? She just arrived and Nick gave her the corsage. Then leave it to little sisters, right before I took their picture Sophie curiously asked "are you getting married?" Made her brother blush. A good laugh on their way to the dance, gotta love little sisters.

Their group had a fun filled day- bowling, ice-cream parlor, home to dress up for the Ball, dancing, then movie afterwards at one of the homes, most of the group were on the swim team. Fun times, good kids.

These are to die for, especially the coconut and dark chocolate ones. Thanks for a great Valentines sweetie!

Hope everyone had a fun-filled Valentines!
