Halloween 2013

I have some bloggy catch up to do, can’t skip our eventful Halloween...

The family looks forward to our favorite Halloween tradition, Frightmares at Lagoon.  Since the girls are tall enough to ride all the rides now, they love it even more, our own little Disneyland!  We hit all the rides, visit Pioneer Village for dinner, old fashion ice-cream, and enjoy the shows and spook alleys.  We went in the 1-3 spiders, while the boys braved the gory 4 & 5 spider spook alleys.  This is the first year without the older boys, sure miss them!  It’s been almost a year since my concussion, I can handle the rides much better (although the Cliff Hanger was dreadful, slowly hanging upside down was not a good idea).  At least we didn’t get wet!  A fun filled day for all!

 

 

Fun at Frightmares!

 

Haunted Hallow- our city puts on a lively Halloween even each year for the community.  The kids enjoy the fire truck pumpkin drop, game booths, graveyard tours, crafts, and of course, seeing friends, it gets bigger each year.

Trunk or Treating…

 

Our ward (church) does a cool Trunk or Treating each year.  This year with my new calling in the RS (over Enrichment), I worked close with the committee for a great evening.  Everyone had a good time with a chili/soup dinner, costume parade, and trunk or treating.  Enjoyable night, except when my yummy tortilla soup spilled in the car on the way, what a mess.  Oh well, time for a shampoo.  The rest of my soup was a hit, many compliments.

Who’s that soccer ball?  Funny, my girls switched up their costumes this year, depending on the event.

I dressed up to volunteer at the kids school party (one more Halloween post coming), so I kept my witch on for the day.  Ne, he, hee

Frightmares at Lagoon

I’m a little behind on posts good reason, I’ll give you a clue in the next post, so I’m catching up on Halloween posts before we’re on to Thanksgiving…

It’s tradition that we go to Frightmares during UEA week-end. A favorite time at Lagoon, with the extra spooky events along with the rides. Paul had to work this year, we missed him, but it was the only time we could go, and so glad he could join us for the other fun things we had planned...

Sage was thrilled she was tall enough for all the fun rides and didn’t have to wear her wedge sandals.

Towards the end of the night we went through some haunted houses. The girls made me laugh as they went through each one determined not to get scared, I saw them jump a few times, but usually they led the way. They were bummed I wouldn’t let them go through the teenage scary ones with their brothers. They can’t be a teenager soon enough. Great Frightmares with my family this year!

Frightmares @ Lagoon- {Sunday Snapshot}

Yae, I finally have time to blog, I have some catching up to do. We spent a fun filled day at Frightmares over UEA week-end. Paul had one day off while the kids were home, so we let them choose what they wanted to do, unanimous, Frightmares at Lagoon!  It’s a fun time of year to go- haunted houses, Halloween shows throughout the day, corn mazes, along with the thrilling rides, we used to take our boys here every October. Of course we like Pioneer Village for their ice-cream and BBQ dinner, so fun seeing Laryl and her family there!

The girls are old enough and brave enough, but 1/2” too short to ride many of the fun rides (the limits are very strict, although they can ride most of the rides at Disneyland). The kiddie rides are boring for them so we found some good ones we can all enjoy- the Tidal Wave, The Bat, Screamer, Flying Aces… We also enjoyed the boys favorites (and mom’s)- Wicked, the Samaria, and the Colossus, hope I can still handle theses rides with the girls :). We even tried the toilet paper in the shoe trick, but still not quite tall enough. Next year for sure! It was a fabulous day and worth missing Bunco and a party Josh was invited to. They each got $10 to play some games before leaving and won something to bring home.

Hope everyone’s enjoying the Fall / Halloween season. I finally picked up the girls costumes yesterday, no princesses this year, but still very cute. Lovin this time of year!
