Soccer, Cornbellies, and Class parties

Their fun coach had a costume soccer practice.  Sweet seeing the team squeal and run over when I dropped off Sophie and Sage.  They enjoyed seeing everyone in costume.

A super cute, and talented team

Top it off with glazed doughnuts, what every soccer player needs.

The team met later that week for a fun night at Cornbellies!

Awesome corn maze this year, U vs. BYU, the girls had fun finding their way.

Class parties

Their official costumes.

Who knew racoons and clowns were besties?  At least these two are (90% of the time anyway).  Sophie cracks us up!  They both do, personality plus!

The girls were excited to go trick or treating with a close friend from school (they have such good friends).  They brought the group up to our neighborhood since our neighbor gave out full size candy bars, lol.

Then off to see both Grandma’s.  Trevor went to a Halloween party with friends, no more trick or treating for him.  Now, to figure out what to do with all that candy.  Last year they sold most of it to their dentist, it went to the troops.

Halloween 2013

I have some bloggy catch up to do, can’t skip our eventful Halloween...

20131017_175623

The family looks forward to our favorite Halloween tradition, Frightmares at Lagoon.  Since the girls are tall enough to ride all the rides now, they love it even more, our own little Disneyland!  We hit all the rides, visit Pioneer Village for dinner, old fashion ice-cream, and enjoy the shows and spook alleys.  We went in the 1-3 spiders, while the boys braved the gory 4 & 5 spider spook alleys.  This is the first year without the older boys, sure miss them!  It’s been almost a year since my concussion, I can handle the rides much better (although the Cliff Hanger was dreadful, slowly hanging upside down was not a good idea).  At least we didn’t get wet!  A fun filled day for all!

Fun at Frightmares!

Haunted Hallow- our city puts on a lively Halloween even each year for the community.  The kids enjoy the fire truck pumpkin drop, game booths, graveyard tours, crafts, and of course, seeing friends, it gets bigger each year.

Nice stache Trev-

Trunk or Treating…

20131026_190214

Our ward (church) does a cool Trunk or Treating each year.  This year with my new calling in the RS (over Enrichment), I worked close with the committee for a great evening.  Everyone had a good time with a chili/soup dinner, costume parade, and trunk or treating.  Enjoyable night, except when my yummy tortilla soup spilled in the car on the way, what a mess.  Oh well, time for a shampoo.  The rest of my soup was a hit, many compliments.

Spooky house in the neighborhood, all decked out for Halloween! (most of these pictures are from my phone)

Who’s that soccer ball?  Funny, my girls switched up their costumes this year, depending on the event.

I dressed up to volunteer at the kids school party (one more Halloween post coming), so I kept my witch on for the day.  Ne, he, hee

Happy Halloween, hope it was great for everyone!

Trick or Treat

Halloween was a hoot!
DSC03686
The girls were excited to wear their costume to school and celebrate with their classmates.

Isn’t that a cute owl?  Nice that they added some healthy fruit in the mix.
I’m the historian / photographer in Sages class…  Yae, get to take more pictures!  And they asked me to do the bulletin boards in Sophie’s class.  I agreed, then realized I should do an art or craft project with the class each month to display (what do I get myself into?  JK).  Confession, although I’m a designer and I love art, I’m not a big fan of crafts.  Oh well, it’s making me to be more creative (and patient) and I enjoy working with the kids.  I’ll post pictures of the bulletin boards each month.

Sage, our cutiepatootie, that’s what her friends call her.  She didn’t waste any time eating her owl, and those around her that didn’t want theirs gave them to Sage, she brought home about 3 other Ding Dongs, joy.

Good excuse to dress up, the witch is in!  Everyone thought Sophie’s soccer costume was awesome, nice cross eyes Sage.

The girls and I made this fruit (jello flavored) popcorn for Sophie’s class, the kids loved it.  For a real crisp and colorful treat, use the Corn Syrup recipe, but we liked the Eagles condensed sweetened milk recipe, more tasty.

DSC03784
A few sick pumpkins.
Imitation is the best form of flattery right?  Trevor carved his big pumpkin and the girls followed suit.  I wasn’t into the carving scene this year, hoping to overlook the whole thing, but the kids didn’t forget and quickly carved them before trick or treating.

They were thrilled when their friend invited them to trick or treat in our old neighborhood.

Fun seeing old friends.

Trevor (his non costume) and uncle Mike.  Always a nice visit at both Grandma’s this spooky night, and the weather was Perrrrfect.
The girls got soo much candy, they kept a little and donated the rest.
Hope everyone had a funfilled Halloween!

I was in charge of a booth and some decorating this night, so I hardly saw my girls, but they had a great time with their school friend, and I was glad to help.

BFF’s

There’s nothing better, according to my girls, then playdates and seeing their good friends (except a fun family outing).

DSC03263
A school friends’ awesome Pow Wow birthday party.  They had Teepee's, made jewelry and had S’mores out back, so fun!  She’s in Sophie’s class this year, a great friend!

DSC03148
A close classmate and another BFF, so happy that Cowabunga Bay stayed opened even after school started this year!  She’s in Sage’s class.

DSC03262
A special visit as they’re passing through town.  Dr. Danny (just became a dentist!) Lindsay, and their darling Maya.  The girls old Primary teachers (best teachers ever!) and forever friends.  Yummy yogurt stop at U-Swirl.

These cuties have a blast at recess together!
Well I just gave away what their Halloween costumes are- Sophie the Soccer Ball (ya, she’s a bit passionate about soccer, so it was worth all the paint), and Sage the amazing Crayon, LOL, she’s happy she can still do cartwheels and back tucks in her costume.  At the town Halloween Party.

DSC03515
They were thrilled to see their fun soccer and old school friend that had moved to Boston, and just moved back home!  They instantly exchanged numbers and planned an upcoming get together.

DSC03426DSC03429
and fun with their good friend from our old neighborhood, they miss their friends there!  There aren’t any girls their age in our new neighborhood, so we plan many playdates.  Innovative girls… since we don’t have trees yet in our yard, they went to the nearby church and gathered all the leaves, then brought them back home to enjoy on the tramp.  They even bagged them all when they were done :)
Blessed with wonderful friends!!
Their friends tell me how funny Sophie and Sage are.
DSC03477
but their best friend is their mom… I was a bit under the weather that day.

and of course their brother(s) & dad
