"Christmas Oranges"

This is one of my favorite Christmas stories to share with my kids each year, they love it. It's been awhile since I've shared things I'm thankful for, so here's a few...

Thanks Emilee for the presentation today at church for the primary children- the story, the short video of baby Jesus, & the kids loved their oranges! Great job on your first Sharing Time!

I'm thankful for my new church calling in the Primary. Although I'll miss directing the music, it's great to be with the children again and working with a great presidency.

Thanks Jackie for pushing us hard and directing us in the choir, the Christmas program was awesome today, probably the best yet!

I'm thankful for the simplicity of this particular Christmas, helps us stay focused on the real reason we celebrate.

I'm thankful for a little break from these busy school days to enjoy my family (I hope I still feel this way at the end of winter break :).

I'm thankful for great friends and neighbors that do so much.

I'm thankful for the gift of adoption!

And especially, to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Merry Christmas!

Notice anything different? besides the fact our boys were too busy to get in the picture.

Adorable hats! I would love it if my Maya would wear a hat. I'd especially love it since she decided to cut her own hair.

Our church was cancelled. I was happy because since I'd heard the weather forecast I put little to no effort into my Relief Society Lesson, but sad because I really wanted to see my husband in the primary's live nativity scene.

Merry Christmas!

Right on Linz, Pauls shaved off his stache he's had forever. Looking good hon!
That stinks Kelli & Eileen, being snowed in from church right before Christmas. It must've really dumped in the northwest. Loved how you both made it work and even held your own, that's great Eileen!

Laryl, I'm Primary secretary. It's pretty busy starting a new year, but I love being back in the Primary (I was P Prez 2 years ago) What do you do in the Primary? They're smart not to let you go. It's the best place to be don't you think?
It's great to hear from all of you! Wishing you a blessed Christmas!

Dear Dianne

I have a Google Alert on the phrase "Christmas Oranges" so anytime these two words appear together in an internet posting, I receive a copy of the posting. Today your Christmas Oranges blog came through. I just wanted to thank you for mentioning "Christmas Oranges" as one of your favorite Christmas stories. Those sincere, unexpected, unsolicited compliments always mean a lot.

Your children are beautiful! How very blessed you are to have been able to add your daughters to your family and how very blessed they are to get such wonderful brothers and parents.

I love Primary too. Maybe it's because I need wiggle songs and rest activities just like the kids but I suspect it's also because helping children know they have a Heavenly Father and Older Brother who love them is just about the best job in the world!

Best wishes for your family in 2009!

Sincerely,
Linda Bethers

Read your article, if I just would say: very good, it is somewhat insufficient, but I am

still tempted to say: really good!
