 ‘n the great snow we’ve received this year (it was well needed), except when I have to clear it off my car, or see the many accidents on the slick roads (I saw six Sat morning)

Sage (left) and Sophie (right) have really taken to the ice.  I used to be good, but that was then, I’m a bit rusty

 

If your name is Josh, you get to the slopes every chance you have (he’s busy working and senior in high school, glad he enjoys this on the side)  He’s usually snowboarding with his buddies, but he ditched them and took the girls up twice during Christmas break, taught them a lot (and I got some Christmas stuff done).  What a great big brother!

We went to a fight and a hockey game broke out…  ha, ha, it wasn’t too bad, except for the loud (vulgar) people behind us, yelling through the whole game.  Anyway, it was a fun night and Trevor really enjoyed it. 

Sledding has also been a popular week-end pastime, can’t beat this snow.  The bigger the hill the better, according to my kiddos (good thing they have helmets)

and of course, Soccer practice moves indoor.  Have you ever played crab soccer?  Me either.  They’re training hard.

And, although we’ve started working out again, gotta have French Toast on a chilled Saturday morning, then cuddle up to a good book.

Waking up to this

So much for Spring weather, but this was stunning driving through it this morning, I had to grab my purse camera (sooc) to capture the blanket of snow throughout. The snow was dense and heavy, sad to see it toppled over some very old trees, but it was beautiful, driving through a snow tunnel.

even if you’re ready for Spring- bought the girls summer swim suits already, but may as well keep them packed a little longer and enjoy the white stuff since this is what we woke up to…  Ugh!

so we went with it…

The kids would line it just right to hit the jump half way down the hill, a challenge since you can’t steer those things, Sophie giggling when she landed it.

I was in the car for awhile getting warm, reading The Hunger Games, and watching my snow kids.  I noticed Trevor talking to a mother so I went over, she had asked if  he ever babysits and if she could get our number.  She loved how T helped her boy get up the hill and watch after him as he slid around.  Trevor is so good with kids.

Snow Day…

The first day back to school after Thanksgiving Break and it ended up being closed due to the snow. Really?? wish they would’ve told us before getting there, I don’t remember the last time we have missed school due to snow closure, you should’ve heard the squeals of delight in the back seat. So I ditched my “"To Do” list and most of my work for the day and what else can you do but have fun in the white stuff…

Trevor rescuing Bruno from getting buried. Bruno loves the snow but it about buried him today. Then warming up with hot chocolate. Fun day, hope they’re ready for school tomorrow.

What else do you do on a day like today?

Paul took a break from working in the garage to help his girls build a snowman, what a dad!

They wanted it as tall as Nick, but settled for their height since the snow wasn't very sticky. Good thing it wasn't very cold, they dressed themselves for the cold while I was making lunch.

They were proud of their snowman and couldn't wait to show it to Trevor after school. Sage asked if I would watch "Frosty" while they were gone and make sure he doesn't melt, saying I could stay inside by the window so I don't get cold, but don't do anything else, not even the computer. I failed, he was half the size when they got home. She must think I control the sun ;).

I heart my mornings with my girls before school. Only a few more months of it, then next year they'll be in school full day- Stop it
