The kids with Zorro!

Sage in the theater in the round.  We got the last 5 seats so we had to split up- Sophie, Trevor, and Paul were a few rows above us.  Good thing there’s no bad seats in the house.

Trevor had to attend a play for his theater class (love homework like this), so we saw Zorro last week-end.  This musical debuted in London, Moscow, Tokyo, Rio… and the Hale Center Theater brought it to the US.  Such an awesome show, we all enjoyed it.  Too funny… during the passionate kissing scene, Zorro’s first kiss with his lost love, immediately Sage and Sophie (a few rows back) said “Eeeew!”.  Everyone around us giggled (oops).  We’ll see how long the girls think that…

The play ended late so the girls dozed off in the end, but they were glued for the most part.  Fun homework Trevor, glad you enjoyed it and we can join you!

School is Cool

DSC02284Cute sight I pulled up to yesterday. Ambitious girls, doing their homework after school and on their way home, knowing it gives them more precious playtime.

Wind Sock…

DSC_5395

Working on their monthly book report, this month a Wind Sock.  Not due until Friday, but no procrastinating with these two.

Squeals when I brought out my Prismacolor Pencil Set I used back in Design School, surprised they weren’t all dried out.

Sage put her picture in the window to trace, adding every detail.

Sophie carefully drew a dog for her book “The First Day Jitters” (funny book)

I love you like Crazy Cakes girls!!!  Sophie was done and off playing already.

Some things I really like about their school are monthly book reports w/ projects and different genres, monthly poems they memorize and recite, &  challenging spelling tests each week, custom to their level.  It’s a lot of homework with daily math and reading, but luckily they want to get it done first thing after school, even starting, and often finishing, in the car :).   I asked Sage today what she enjoys learning at school, she said “learning about planets.”  cute

Do you like our new craft / homework area?  Out with the dust collecting large weight set, in with the homework nook (thanks hon!).  BTW, Paul has been doing P90X lately and is in such good shape!   Lost about 40 lbs, he feels better and looks great!  Post later on that.

Good tasting Homework...

Making Bread

DSC_1492 DSC_1564

They made the dough at school (in big zip lock baggies, germ free), and cooked their bread at home tonight for homework. So cute to hear them explain how they used math to make the dough, and it turned out quite tasty, one better then the other, but who's comparing :). Great hands on homework. Thanks Mrs. N & S, awesome teachers!

Sophie's in red, she lost her first tooth on Christmas Eve, love the toothless grin. You can imagine the excitement anticipating the Tooth Fairy & Santa on the same night. That night they left extra cookies and a note asking Santa to share with the Fairy.
